Laiko Group was established in 2002 by the merging of the companies Laiko Kafekopteio, LOEL and Printco as well as their subsidiaries, thus creating one of the biggest Group of companies in Cyprus.
The areas of activity of the Laiko Group are the following:
- Production, Import, Trading and Distribution of Food and Beverages
- Manufacturing and trading of plastic packaging materials, bags and printing activities
- Import and Trading of industrial and household air-conditioning equipment and industrial timber
The Group’s turnover in 2010 amounted to €70 million, with around 400 employees. People’s Coffee Grinding, as the traditional producer of coffee in Cyprus, supplies the Cypriot market with Laiko traditional coffee since 1948. Many years have passed since but People’s Coffee Grinding is still the largest industry in the production of Cypriot coffee and, as a pioneer in the market of Cypriot coffee, continues to write successfully the history of the Cypriot Coffee, a history of over 60 years.
The Group made a similar success of the production of Zivania in Cyprus. Around the end of the ΄90s, LOEL dared proceed to the industrialization of Zivania, a traditional product of Cyprus which until then was produced on an amateurish basis. The product was immediately embraced by consumers for its unique taste and quality, making it, in record time, the first Zivania in Cyprus, by far better than the rest. Nowadays, LOEL Zivana is considered the most successful product of Laiko Group making LOEL the biggest industry in the production of Zivania in Cyprus.
The Group’ s headquarters are located in the Idalion Industrial Area of Nicosia where the new super modern Distribution Centre is housed, satisfying daily the needs of all its companies on a pancyprian basis.
